Gardena
Following intensive investigations, GARDENA AG concluded a comprehensive licensing agreement for the use of PlantCare sensor technology in November 2005. GARDENA uses this to expand its own range of products. In 2007, the first Gardena soil moisture sensor for outdoors was marketed with PlantCare technology.
Gardena is the leading garden brand throughout Europe that focuses on automatic watering systems.

Zurich University of Applied Sciences
The ENR (environment and natural resources) department at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Wädenswil has been testing PlantCare’s soil moisture sensor since 2006. Different areas of application, including the monitoring of substrate moisture in plant containers, have been tested. It was discovered that the sensor is highly suited to this application. Furthermore, in a research project, supported by the Swiss Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) and Swiss Federal Office for Agriculture (FOAG), the PlantCare sensor technology as well as PlantCare smart irrigation solutions were successfully tested.
